Sea fan Reef

Off the coast of the big beaches of this side of the island the posidonia grasslands stop at about 35 m and the bottom becomes full of debris. This is the landscape for the divers at the Sea fan Reef where the bottom at 38 m is completely covered by a bushy white big sea fan “forest”. On the branches of the sea fans there are small shellfishes or shrimps, a rarity for the happiness of the photographer.
Between the seafans, when madreporic blocks arise from the bottom, you gape looking at the elegant swimming of a school of Sciaena Umbra or big groupers, hidden in holes so small they can’t house. It’s hard to avoid to touch them. This dive is reccomended to expert divers.
