The axinelle's shoal

On the east side of the red Capo Comino Island on a medreporic bottom with big granitic rocks the maximum depth is 33 m. The rocks are rich of benthonic organisms such as Alcyonium palmatum which is surrounded by giant Axinelle polipoides, a yellow sponge with branches which are very big (60-70 cm) in this site. Many Roman amphora fragments make this place particulary evocative. This dive is reccomended to middle-expert divers.
